Good Thinking...
My first design award was given to me in middle school for a safety poster contest. I created a large picture of a key with a headline that read "The Key To Safety Is Good Thinking." In the years that followed, I became much more interested in "outside the box" thinking.
After graduating Parsons School of Design and FIT in New York City, I immersed myself in the advertising world, honing my craft at some of the most celebrated agencies in New York, San Francisco, and Chicago. I passionately took on projects that ranged from beauty, fashion, and corporate ads, to cd, book and logo designs. Having an eye for space and even the smallest details, combined with an elegant, clean and modern esthetic, continues to be the delicately consistent thread that connects all of my designs. Utilizing font and design in unexpected ways to create contrast has also been an effective technique for me.
For the past 5 years, I have been the creative director for the luxury publication, Life Refined Magazine, designing, managing, and editing the entirety of its 48 pages cover to cover. Additionally, I have been a design consultant for several top event planners in Chicago. Most recently, I work as an independent art director and designer based in Chicago.
